Saving for GOOD – the easy way to save!
Saving for GOOD takes the guesswork out of saving by automatically making a deposit into your savings account each time you make a purchase with your Achieva debit card.
How it works
Watch your savings grow just by using your debit card to make everyday purchases, either in stores or online. When you make a purchase, Achieva will calculate the round up amount of your purchase to the nearest dollar and automatically transfer that amount from your checking account to your designated savings account. It’s that easy!
Getting started is easy
All you need is an Achieva checking account with a debit card and a savings account. If you make purchase for $23.59, we’ll round it up to an even $24. The $0.41 difference is automatically transferred to your savings account.
ENROLL
Visit your local branch or call 800.593.2274 to enroll in Saving for GOOD.
SPEND
Once enrolled, use your Achieva debit card as you normally would.
SAVE
We’ll round up your purchase to the nearest dollar and transfer the difference from your checking into your savings account.

The funding is coming from your checking account; Achieva is not funding the round up. Achieva’s role is to calculate the round up amount of your purchase to the nearest dollar and automatically transfer that amount from your checking account and deposit it to your designated savings account. With this process, you will see two transactions post in your checking account: one for the purchase and one for the round up amount. You will see the corresponding round up amount credited to your designated savings account. For example, if you spend $5.50, the round up amount is $0.50, a total of $6.00. In your checking account, you will see a debits to your checking account for the $5.50 purchase and $0.50 for the round up. In your savings account, you will see a credit for the round up amount of $0.50. Note that if a purchase is for an even dollar amount, for example $12.00, the round up amount will be $1.00.
Eligible purchases include those where you use your PIN or where you sign for purchases. These can be at a store, restaurant, gas pump, online, recurring, or over the phone.
If you do not have enough funds to cover the round up amount, the round up will not take place.
If you make a return of a transaction that rounded up, the round up amount will stay in your designated savings account.
You can see all your Saving for GOOD transactions within online banking, mobile banking or on your monthly statement.
1 Achieva Saving for GOOD is available for consumers with a consumer debit card (does not include H.S.A. cards) and consumer checking and savings accounts. Eligible purchases include those where you use your PIN or where you sign for purchases. These can be at a store, restaurant, gas pump, online, recurring, or over the phone. The transferred amount may occur within seconds or may take a few business days to post, depending on how the merchant processes the transaction. Purchases of a whole dollar amount will round up $1.00 to savings.
The Saving for GOOD program is only available for designated Achieva Credit Union consumer debit cards and their associated checking accounts. Only one Saving for GOOD round up combination (e.g., from checking and to savings combination) is available. Each eligible signature or PIN-based transaction is rounded up to the next whole dollar amount (even dollar purchases will round up $1.00) and the round up amount is automatically transferred from the primary account (checking account) on the debit card to the designated savings or money market account. The round up amount will post to the designated savings account based upon how the merchant processes the transaction. Transfer may post immediately or within two business days. If there are not sufficient funds in the designated account to support the round up amount, the round-up amount will not occur for that transaction. If a debit card purchase is returned or otherwise cancelled, the round-up amount from the original purchase will remain in the designated “To” account. Round-up transfers may take up to two business days to post to your designated “To” account. Enrollment may be changed and/or cancelled at any time by notifying Achieva Credit Union in writing. Cancellations and changes may take up to ten business days to process. If one or both designated accounts are closed, the round up will be cancelled. Promotions, products rates, terms, conditions and services are subject to change and/or cancellation without notice.
